Meeting and demonstration at Larry Kern's shop       April 4,2009     (Click on any picture for a larger image) The April meeting was held at Larry Kern’s shop in Albuquerque. Demonstrations were done by Louis Voldahl and Danny Brzozowski. Louis demonstrated the making of wizard heads and Danny’s demonstration was tong making. Both were very good demonstrations. Meeting Notes: Leon Wilson talked about the ribbon burner/gas forge making project which was started by him and Bob Curtis. A list of names of those participating was started and the project is to get started soon. Terrell Perkins talked about The Art Of The Blacksmith & Smokey Bear Days to be held in Capitan, NM May 1-3 and sponsored by SWABA. He encourages all members that can attend to do so to help make this a successful event. Thomas Powers and Gary Williams will be there all 3 days and will be demonstrating. The State Fair coming up in September will again be coordinated By Alex Ivey. Thomas Powers will again coordinate the Festival of Cranes at Bosque Del Apache this fall. Drawings were held for iron in the hat and for the trade item, which was a trivet. A garden trowel will be the trade item at the June meeting.
